Objective To analyse the relationship between different types of watershed cerebral ifarction(CWSI)and intracranial and extracranial arterial stenosis, based on analysis of the relationship,The vascular lesions and possible pathogenesis of CWSI were speculated,It can help individualized treatment of patients.Method Retrospective analysis pations who diagnosed with CWSI in General Hospital of Ningxia Medical University from January 2013 to December2016,based on Bogousslavsky classification standards in 1986,by craniocerebral magnetic resonance diffusion weighted imaging(DWI)can divided them into cortical, subcortical and mixed type. The baseline characteristics, intracranial and extracranial arterial stenosis and clinical course of different CWSI patients were compared.Result A total of 163 CWSI patients were collected,of which 48 patients(22.45%)were in the cortical group,80 cases(49.08%)were in the subcortical group and 35 cases(21.47%)were in the mixed group. There were 139 cases(85.27%)in the three groups of patients with different degrees of intracranial and extracranial arterial stenosis or occlusion. It is the most common in the middle cerebral artery(MCA),followed by the extracranial segment of the internal carotid artery(ICA).There were 87 cases of MCA lesions(53.37%),moderate and severe stenosis or occlusion 69 cases(42.33%)and mild stenosis18 cases(11.04%).There were 71 cases(43.56%)in the extracranial segment of the ICA lesions, the moderate and severe stenosis or occlusion 56 cases(34.35%)and 15 cases with mild stenosis(9.20%).The subcortical group had a higher proportion of the MCA moderate and severe stenosis or occlusion(P=0.002 <0.05)than the cortical group.Compared with the cortical group, the subcortical group was more frequent found to have early clinical deterioration during the hospitalization period(P=0.019 < 0.05).Result 1.CWSI may be associated with moderate and severe stenosis or occlusion of MCA and extracranial segment of ICA.2.In CWSI,the subcortical type is more closely related to the severe stenosis and occlusion in the middle cerebral artery.3.Cortical patients has a better hospitalization condition than others;Subcortica are more likely to have early clinical deterioration.
