Objective To observe changes in the distribution width of red blood cells in the blood of patients with metabolic syndrome, and understand the factors that affect the distribution width of red blood cells and the relationship between the distribution width of red blood cells and target organ damage in patients with metabolic syndrome. Methods This study is included in 90 cases as the study object, including normal control group, metabolic syndrome group(MS),metabolic syndrome with hypertension group(HMS)were 30 cases. The subjects were included under the same conditions to measure their arterial blood pressure, height, weight, and waist circumference, and the body mass index(BMI)was calculated using a standard formula;all subjects included were measured in the morning fasting state of red blood cell distribution width(RDW),Red blood cells(RBC),Hemoglobin(Hb),Hematocrit(HCT),Blood lipids(including TG,TC,HDL-C and LDL-C),Fasting blood glucose(FBG),Kidney function index(BUN,Cr)),and estimate the glomerular filtration rate(e GFR)using a standard formula.Under the same conditions, cardiac echocardiography was used to measure relevant cardiac structural parameters, including left ventricular end-diastolic diameter(LVDd),interventricular septal thickness(IVST),left ventricular posterior wall thickness(LVPWT),and left ventricle Ejection fraction(EF),left ventricular mass(LVM)and left ventricular mass index(LVMI)calculated using standard formulas;carotid artery intima-media thickness(IMT)and whether or not There is plaque formation.SPSS20.0 statistical software was used to analyze the collected data.Results(1)The erythrocyte distribution width(RDW)was significantly increased in the MS and HMS groups,P<0.05.(2)Linear correlation analysis showed that: RDW was positively correlated with BMI,SBP,DBP,TG and waist circumference, its value was P<0.05;RDW had no correlation with HDL-C and FBG,P>0.05;multiple linear regression analysis The results showed that the independent factors of RDW were SBP and TG,P<0.05.(3)Compared with the normal control group, the LWMI of the MS group and the HMS group increased,P<0.05;compared with the MS group, the LWMI of the HMS group increased significantly,P<0.05.(4)Compared with the normal control group, the IMT value of the MS group and the HMS group was significantly higher and statistically significant(P<0.05).The IMT of the HMS group was significantly higher than that of the MS group, with statistical significance(P<0.05).(5)The e GFR of the MS group and the HMS group was significantly lower than that of the normal control group,P<0.05.(6)Linear correlation analysis between target indicators of RDW and metabolic syndromes showed that RDW was positively correlated with LVMI and IMT,P<0.05,and negatively correlated with e GFR,P<0.05;univariate Logistic regression analysis. The results showed that RDW was a risk factor for the damage of target organs(heart, brain and kidney)in patients with metabolic syndrome,P<0.05.Conclusion(1)The distribution width of red blood cells increases in patients with metabolic syndrome;(2)Systolic blood pressure and triglyceride in the components of metabolic syndrome can affect the distribution width of red blood cells;(3)The distribution width of red blood cells is was a risk factor for thedamage of target organs(heart, brain and kidney)in patients with metabolic syndrome.
