This thesis consists of the following five parts:The first chapter mainly proves the great work with nature of folk story telling from five aspects: popularity, story-type, being legendary, variability and entertainment. History has it that Yanzi is a kind of person with characters of great devotion to work and loving people, sincere and holy, and has received great respect from the mass. Hence, his story has become widespread for long. Then through much positive modification by busyboys, gradually Yanzi turned into one almost perfect typical figure in the work—Yanzi Annal. That is just why such work has deep colors of folk tales.The second chapter mainly analyzes this the protagonist, sums up its characteristics, and expounds its compound thoughts. Yanzi Annal is a kind of biography about Yanzi, at the same time, it is one literary work that has gone through long time circulation, modification and compilation, and contains confucianism, mohism and legalism and so on. With such strong cultural foundation, it has fully reflected the thoughts during the Spring and Autumn period, especially the free and diversified thoughts of figures within the territory of Qi state.Chapter three exploits the other roles besides the hero Fully, with typical examples, analysis of the typical characteristics of its characters.
