Chinese contemporary painting is moving forward with exploration.Traditional Chinese painting was influenced by the spirit of the age,social environment etc under the impact of western art.To make Chinese painting going into the contemporary era in the background of keeping traditional drawing language,that is a difficult problem.Luo Ying is one of the people who are trying to make Chinese painting going into the contemporary era.Luo Ying transformed the image formed by the line in traditional Chinese culture into the contemporary context by her own artistic language named Line Image.This thesis mainly talks about Luo Ying's Line Image art.The study of Luo Ying's Line Image art is to launch throughout analytic method of literature,individual cases,image etc.This thesis' s purpose is to bring few inspiration for Chinese contemporary art via the study of Luo Ying's Line Image art.The first part of the thesis introduces the topic's origin,meaning of the study,current situation of research,problems to be solved and method of research.In the second part,the first quarter talks about the background that Luo Ying lied.The second quarter explains the personal factos about the formation of art.The third part talks about Line Image in the contemporary art environment including subject matter and content and form of paintings.The forth part confirms that Luo Ying's art is in accord with the law of art development.And then,it makes clear that Luo Ying's creative ideas and temporal spirit have more inspiration.The last part summarizes Line Image and hopes to provide some inspiration and draw lessons for solving the problems that Chinese contemporary art faces.
