On Hegel's Concept Of Negativity

"Negativity" is a key to understand Hegel's philosophy, is the core concept of the distinction between Hegel and other philosophy, but also is the key of the movement of Hegel's system. It is potential operation structure of Hegel's philosophy. The whole system of Hegel's philosophy is the result of the movement of this structure. The focus of this paper is to give the structure of "negativity". " Reality as subjectivity " is a major view of Hegel, which is also namely "absolute negativity". Based on it, firstly, the article analyzes the structure of "Negativity" through the structure of self-consciousness analyzed by Kant, Fichte, Schelling, and indicates that this structure is higher than the structure of ego through Hoelderlin's view. It is the possible condition of self-consciousness. This structure of "negativity" means Being in itself, Being for other and Being for other is Being in itself. Secondly, this paper further analyzes the essence of negativity and the concept of negativity in Logic. In the "essence", we show that negative structure is obtained in the section of Schein, "reflection" is own operation of negative structure, and it is the development of negative structure concretely from identity to ground. In the "concept", the paper shows that the structure of the concept is nothing more than self-consciousness which also is the structure of "negativity", and a detailed analysis of the "General Theory of concept" and the structure of concept. It indicates that why only the concept can recognize the absolute. On one hand, it shows that Hegel's argument of Logic is based on the structure of "negativity", on the other hand, Hegel's category movement can help us understand the structure of "negativity" and also offer an argument to the analysis of the first step in the text. Finally, this paper suggests that structure of "negativity" is a founding structure.
