Theoretical Research On The Multitude

As the trend of globalization of capital and the changes in the production structure of society, Marx proletarian theory been questioned. Autonomist Marxism scholars Negri and Hart raised immaterial labor theory and rebound the multitude political words, which were introduced as the new proletariat to revolt capital expansion. Multitude theory caused extensive hot debate in the academic circles when it was raised. At this point, the studies of the new political subject multitude, which intended to replace the traditional proletariat, had a great significance for the future political course. Therefore, the author used the method of comparison analysis to grasp the theoretical logic of whole multitude, and stand on the perspective of objective criticism, analysis defects and shortcomings of the multitude theory. Also, find out new revelation from the multitude theory, in order to derive the future development of Marxist inspiration.Firstly, this paper combed of the multitude theory simply, for the comparative study of the theory below.Secondly, this paper compared and analysis the multitude theory and Proletarian theory from three aspects, which were theoretical basis, main concept and social policy. Among them, the theoretical basis of the multitude theory was from Negri's immaterial labor theory, while the proletarian theory is from the Marxist labor value theory. It can be clearly seen there is a huge flaw in the base portion of the multitude by compared with the proletarian theory, which is from immaterial labor theory. The instability of the theoretical basis led multitude theory untenable directly. Then, there is fundamentally different with the main concept of multitude and the proletariat. The multitude theory has the three properties of the inclusiveness, diversity and universality. However, as well as show some new theoretical perspective, these characteristics also shows some inadequacies, such as can't be practical and defined.Finally, there is the comparison in the social policy. Negri and Hart expect a multitude of global joint to resist empire in order to reach a total society, but the proletariat is moving toward a communist society, these two social policies vary considerably.The author also analyzed and criticized the overall logic of the main line of the multitude, in order to be able to judge the lack of multitude theory clearly, which for the development of Marxism theory.Above all, the author absorbed the revelation from the Negri, Hart and multitude theory, tries to put forward new ideas for the Marxist development and improvement. The propose of multitude theory show modern Marxist scholars actively exploring for the future development of the Marxist theory, but also brought new perspectives and inspiration for the development of Marxist theory.Although Marxist proletarian theory has met challenge, it needs to be developed to explain the new problems, but this doesn't mean Marxist proletarian theory is out of the date. For contemporary China, only insist on the theoretical standpoint and the theoretical vie was Marxist proletarian theory, we could recognize the development trend of the society which in the complex environment and the problems in China's social reform. And insist on the Marxist proletarian, we would get the communist society.
