Holistic education raised in the sixty or seventy's in twentieth Century, it is a kind of education thought which advocates the return to the traditional education. Holistic education advocates such concept: highlight the balance between man and nature, between man and society and even between man and universe. It reveals the integrity of personality, promotes people's subject consciousness, pays more attention to the development of the people, be sure the value of a man, be respect man's personality, be with a complete personality, peace of mind and broaden horizons to transcend the limits of reality. In view of the characteristics of "specialized" and lack of humanism in Foreign language institute. Holistic education pays attention to human's "integrity" and highlights the concept of humanistic education, which suits the current difficulties foreign language institutes facing with in our country. It is corresponding for foreign language institutes to use the holistic education concept to guide its curriculum offerings.This article is divided into five chapters. The first chapter mainly introduces the purpose and significance of the selected topic and compares the study of holistic education thoughts both in our country and abroad, also it presents the research methods. The second chapter is the foundation of selected topic, which discusses the historical origin of holistic education, as well as the background of the holistic education. The third chapter introduces three kinds of curriculum under the concept of holistic education. Take Taiwan Chung Yuan Christian University, Chinese university of Hong Kong and Beijing University as an example. The fourth chapter coveys the characteristics of the foreign language institutes' curriculum offerings in our country and discusses the application and the necessity of holistic education. The fifth chapter summarized the full theory, based on the analysis of the holistic education's basic claims as well as the reference of the whole person education curriculum mode, putting forward the ideas of the foreign language institutes' curriculum offerings and its curriculum plan.
