On The Dilemma Of Lu Xun's Enlightenment From The Perspective Of "pioneer"

The enlightenment thought had been throughout the whole life of Lu Xun. In the early time, he convinced of the Enlightenment; In the May Fourth period, he doubted the enlightenment; Then in 1920s, he was desperate for the enlightenment and gave some resistance. The path of enlightenment what he insisted had been full of difficulties and reverses, but he did not give up the faith what he has been insisting. At the beginning of the twentieth century, the western enlightenment thought was introduced into China and developed rapidly. Lu Xun was involved in the new culture movement with two modern novels set of "The Scream" and "Wandering" which was considered of the foundation of modern novels. A consistent work was his enlightenment thought in his novels. There were doubts about the ideal of the enlightenment, but also examination and exploration of the way of enlightenment. Both novels set was the best carrier of his own enlightenment thought to show. On the one hand, Lu Xun engaged in the enlightenment, adhered to enlighten the public out of ignorance and did not deny the possibility to achieve enlightenment. On the other hand, he also saw the difficulties of the enlightenment with a clear insight and questioned the effectiveness of enlightenment. Lu Xun insisted on the heavy road to enlightenment and always faced with the dilemma of persistence and suspicion. But in Lu Xun here, there was only the hard road to enlightenment rather than thorough negation of the enlightenment. In his own world of profound thought, from advocating enlightenment to go beyond enlightenment, and ultimately return to the enlightenment, It had a transcendence in philosophical sense of negation of the negation.In "The Scream" and "Wandering" two novels set, pioneers image were the important role and they were bearing the important reference and relying on Lu Xun's transcendence of the enlightenment thought. This paper intends to start from the perspective of "pioneer" to understand Lu Xun's enlightenment predicament through the analysis of the life experience of Lu Xun and the series of pioneer characters in his novels. At the same time, from the limitations of the "otherness enlightenment" perspective, this paper is trying to dig of the deep reasons of Lu Xun's dilemma of enlightenment, and to provide some clues to the reasons of the difficult process of Modern and Contemporary enlightenment thought.
