This is a translation project report on chapter 6 of Windfall: The Booming Business of Global Warming, which is written by a famous American journalist Mckenzie Funk. This book, which makes a fascinating investigation into how people around the globe were coping with the problems brought by global warming as well as how they were making profits on the warming world, is a good reference to China.The author also shares his profound opinion on the ways people dealt with the crisis.Chapter 6 of this book is closely linked with the water-shortage condition of China. It comprehensively describes how companies and entrepreneurs in various countries were dealing with the water-shortage problem as well as making profits, which can provide precious experience for Chinese governments and enterprises to find the best way to deal with it as well as finding business opportunities in it.This report is consisted of four chapters. Chapter 1 presents the background and significance of the project. Chapter 2 is an introduction to the source text, including the content and language features of it. And chapter 3, as the main part of this report,makes an exploration into the text type theory and difficulties in translation and formulates respective translation methods for them under the guidance of the text type theory. The final part-chapter 4 is the conclusion for the report, which includes the summary of the report as well as the experience and lessons the translator has learned during the process of translation.
