As one of the traditional craftsmanship and Chinese intangible cultural heritage, Zhong's carved porcelain has epitomized the essence of the traditional culture and national art of China. But in the contemporary changes in lifestyle and environment, the craftsmanship of Zhong's carved porcelain has been impacted by the mass production of mechanization, and is facing the crisis of diminishing and disappearing. It is of vital importance to protect the traditional culture and craftsmanship in modern times. Taking Zhong's carved porcelain of the intangible cultural heritage as the research subject, this thesis studies the cultural connotation of embodies in the process of people using traditional handicrafts through the introduction of crafting processes, skill ideas, key points of heritage. It is expected to find a living space for, inherit and apply the craftsmanship of Zhong's carved porcelain in the current time.In this thesis, the development evolution is introduced for the traditional craftsmanship of Zhong's carved porcelain art as a intangible cultural heritage, the skills of are researched and elaborated in depth. Combined with the unique crafting process and art style of Zhong's carved porcelain, it is concluded that is the combined art of traditional Chinese ink painting and inscriptions on ancient bronzes and stone tablets, which is a complex of Chinese painting, Chinese calligraphy, Chinese seal cutting and Chinese arts and handicrafts. Based on the perspective of the development and inheritance of intangible cultural heritage, systematic analysis is carried out intensively concerning the cultural connotation, art value, and crafting skills, etc., of. Predictions are made for the development of. An inheritance model is proposed that the Zhong's carved porcelain art be inherited in the artistic design in colleges and universities so as to facilitate the development of it.On the above basis, it is suggested that the Zhong's carved porcelain techniques should be applied to the production and daily life of people. The techniques and skills of Zhong's carved porcelain can be utilized in the aspects of the design of daily utilities, product packaging, design of soft decoration inside the house. The combination of the inheritance of Zhong's carved porcelain art and artistic design can make the art of Zhang's carved porcelain infiltrate into the daily life and production of people which underlines the uniqueness of traditional handicraft among the commonalities of modern design. This kind of design can reflect the cultural value and has higher artistic value of appreciation. It is hoped that this thesis can provide a reference for the development orientation of the creative design method for the Zhong's carved porcelain skills.
