The advancement of technology made people communication in modality changed greatly and presented multimode, also called multiple semiotic, including verbal and writing, space, picture, diagraph and others semiotic resources for meaning making.Discourse analysis, which is also called text analysis, goes through big development. Based on Halliday's system function grammar, Kress & Van leeuwen found multimodal discourse analysis, which has been widely used in analysis ads, TV programs, film poster, film subtitle translation, traffic sign etc. Multimodal discourse analysis is a new type. It expands language itself, Dynamic video text is a new challenge. Scholars at home and abroad have made extensively research that has theoretical and practical significance.Based on Systemic-functional linguistics and Kress & Van leeuwen's Visual Grammar, The thesis dissects the teleplay Wonderful Single Life by Multimodal Discourse Analysis. Firstly, the author illustrates the current development of multimodal discourse analysis and founds the theoretical framework of Wonderful Single Life. Secondly, the author interprets the representational meaning of Wonderful Single Life from the aspects of narrative and conceptual process, analyzes the interactive meaning from the view of contact, social distance, perspectives and modality, and elaborates the compositional meaning in terms of information value, salience and framing. Finally, the author makes a synthetic analysis to testify its feasibility and encode how dynamic meanings are constructed by various semiotic resources. Findings demonstrate that the established theoretical framework adapts to dynamic multimodal discourse analysis.Qualitative research method and case study method are adopted to elucidate the Japanese's teleplay Wonderful Single Life. To a certain degree, the study expands the field of multimodal discourse analysis, improves teleplay's making level and the audiences' appreciation level. Furthermore, the study is also of some enlightenment on dynamic text.
