This is a translation report. The source text of this project is the 10 th chapter of If I'm So Wonderful, Why Am I Still Single? written by Susan Page. In this chapter, the author objectively analyzes the issue of the single from the perspectives of self-awareness, self-love, self-esteem, self-acceptance, etc. Besides, the author also provides related strategies on social psychology and social communication.The type of the text is informative and the translator combines translation experiences and typical examples from the theoretical perspective of Skopos Theory composed of three basic rules, which include the Skopos rule, the coherence rule and the fidelity rule. Furthermore, the translator adopts proper translation strategies so as to reach a goal. In this report, translation techniques, such as sequential translation, inversion, division and addition, are adopted for the translation of long sentences, so that the translator is aiming at providing some references to the translation of informative texts.The report can be divided into five parts as follows: Part one is a brief introduction to the translation project. Part two is about the source text, including an introduction to the author and the analysis of the source text. Part three introduces the basic rules of the Skopos theory and describes the application of Skopos theory in this report. Part four is about the encountered translation difficulties and solutions. The last part serves as a conclusion of the report, stating some lessons, experiences and limitations of the report.
