The following article analyzes the most classic and beloved Fantaisie Impromptu in c-sharp Minor Op.66 from Chopin Impromptus. On one hand, the background and style of composing is construed in a recapitulative manner; on the other hand, its playing techniques are detailed by analyzing tempi, dynamics, and use of pedals. Moreover, the innovative methodology involves incorporating theoretical scrutiny into examination of actual performing approaches by virtuoso, Artur Rubinstein.Five sections compose this article. Abstract illustrates the purpose and intent of this study. Introduction expounds the musical composition from three folds: background,style, and sentiments. The third section, being the most important, specifically highlights tempi, dynamics, and pedal use of the playing technique. Lastly, the final section studies Artur Rubinstein's edition, where Rubinstein's understanding of Chopin's lexicon and his performing approaches are analyzed. Summary concludes and briefly assesses the whole article by pointing out limitation and future research expectation.
