The Study Of Masculinity In Individual, Social And Global Level In Pin Hua Bao Jian

In the Connell's theory,masculinity is a place in gender relations,the practices through which men and women engage that place in gender,and the effects of these practices in bodily experience,personality and culture.The process that the individual carries individual gender practice according to collective gender practice configuration is called “gender project”;the process that the individual gender practice affects individual gender traits and social gender configuration is called “social embodiment”.Masculinity needs to be analyzed from four dimensions in gender relation structure: power relations,production relations,cathexis and symbolic relations.Masculinity includes hegemonic masculinity,subordinated masculinity,complicit masculinity and marginalized masculinity.Both gender project in individual level and gender arrangement in social level(including gender regimes and world gender order)are gender practice configuration in gender relation structure,essentially.In the process of gender practice configuration,the individual has subjective initiative and there is a mutual effect between gender project in individual level and gender arrangement in social level.This thesis uses Connell's masculinity theory to analyze masculinity crisis and negotiation in individual,social and global level through a research into Pin Hua Bao Jian by combining hierarchy in Qing Dynasty.In individual level,the author takes Du Qinyan as analytic object and interprets male bodily gender practice history and configuration;in social level,it discusses the hegemonic masculinity of scholars in the late Qing Dynasty,points out masculinity crisis at that time and analyzes Chen Sen's writing practice dealing with the masculinity crisis;in global level,by the explanation of western barrel forecast,the author analyzes masculinity masculine crisis that China faces in capitalist global expansion influenced by the Industrial Revolution.The innovation of this thesis is that,the author uses modern western masculinity theory in social hierarchy on China's specific historical stage to interpret ancient Chinese literary work,exploring the space for the application and localization of this theory in the subject area of ancient Chinese literature.
