Management And Locate Places Of Folk Beliefs-in Zhoushan City For Example

Folk religions, distinct from traditional religions, are religions born among the people in a nation of multiple nationalities and religions. This unique religious worship in a certain nationality or a certain community from a certain region often appears to be a folk custom with the strong characteristics of religions, which has certain relationship with, but distinguished from legal religions. Accompanied by folk festivities and customs, the folk religions in the meantime are contaminated with folk feudalistic and superstitious activities in some respects in some regions. As a social phenomenon widely spread among the people, this non-institutionalized religion possesses a distinct nature from theistic religion, which results in the fact that folk religions, similar to the five traditional religions, are featured with chronicity, mass characteristic, and complexity. On the other hand, folk religions uniquely represent not only the secularization of Chinese traditional religions but also the native life-style and folkways. the thesis herein discussed the nature and origin of this social issue based on zhoushan civil religion and current situation and problems existing in folk religious occasions, provided certain theoretical basis for the reinforcement of the management in folk religious occasions, studied the folk religions in our city from the perspective of the localization and management, and proposed constructive policy suggestions through analysis upon the folk religion in order to improve the level of control over the folk religious occasions. According to the special investigations of questionnaire surveys and on-site interviews about the folk religious situations in the entire city, the author emphasized the samples collected from the regions with relatively fast development and concentrated folk religions(xinchen street and east street of dinghai district) to realize and master the current situations and problems existing in the folk religions of our city, and consequently summarized the logics to explore novel management measures and tools for the new stage.
