Goddess Study Of Zhangzhou

Zhangzhou is an important city in the study of folk godliness in the South Fujian and the custom of paying great attention to the witchcraft has a long history,performance as a wide variety of gods,many temples and a lot of believers.But in terms of the gender of the gods,male god is in the dominant position,while comparing with other regions in China,the Goddess adoration of Zhangzhou is in an advantageous position in the number of the goddess and believers.Also Zhangzhou has its own regional characteristics.This paper is centered on the research of the goddess belief in Zhangzhou in order to depict the images of goddess worship.In the introduction part,I mainly introduced the reason and significance of the study.The present situation of goddess adoration and study methodology are also metioned.The frist chapter discusses the goddess adortion's formation and development from the point of regional factors and belief propagation.Classifing the goddess accorded to the function.Chapter two describes the characteristics of the goddess belief,including the feature of witchcrafe,single function,patriarchal and humanity.The last chapter introduces the secular spirit of goddess.Although they are in the temples,they filled with humanistic care.Goddess plays an important role and influence on the present society.
