This essay is a practice report on Chinese-English mock consecutive interpretation. The author choses Premier Li Keqiang' s speech, which was delivered to British think tank in the U.K as a consecutive interpretation material. The practice report is based on it. Foreign affairs interpretation is a branch of interpretation with its own characteristics. With growing interflows among the world, foreign affairs also grow sharply. Therefore, foreign affairs interpretation is more important than ever before. Besides, in the twenty-first century, with a growing exchanges and interflows between China and the U.K, Sino-UK relationship has become one of the most important international relationships around the world, which also brings great significance to the study of Premier Li's speak at Britain.In this essay, the author first of all analyzes the importance of preparation before interpretation. And there is a detailed analysis in this part. A good preparation can help interpreters to work well, and vice versa. So interpreters should attach great importance to it. Also in this essay, there is a record and analysis on interpretation process.Interpretation process is a faithful reproduce of the authors' interpreting. It aims at recording the process of interpretation. This would help the author to analyze how to translate source language into target language with audience acceptance. The third part is analysis and case study. In this part, the author mainly focus on problems of interpretation, such as sentence focus, formal subject “it”, lexical selection and so on,they all deserve special concern. Through the study, the author acquires better understanding of foreign affairs consecutive interpretation, finds deficiencies and gains some enlightenments.
