Mr. Lao She is the first writer who win the title of "people's artist" in China. In his works full of humorous and local cultural color. Lao She is good at using common sayings Beijing vernaculars portray characters with sophisticated writing and vivid portrayal of details, so he's called the writer of "Beijing taste novels". "Camel Xiangzi" is one of the representative works of his "Beijing taste novels". Russian translator E. P?????????????-M???????? translated 15 works of Mr. Lao She, among them, ?P?????——Russian translation of "Camel Xiangzi", belongs to one of the most popular foreign literature translation in Russia. This thesis based on Relevance Theory, analyzes the translation of common sayings in the Russian translation of novel "Camel Xiangzi", provides some theoretical reference and practical examples to Russian translation of Chinese common sayings.The introduction of this thesis summarizes the research status of Relevance Theory at home and abroad, the translation of "Camel Xiangzi" and the translation of common sayings, explains the innovation and research process of this thesis.The first chapter elaborates the essence of translation under the perspective of Relevance Theory. Introduces the main content of Relevance Theory, analyzes the essence of translation under the perspective of Relevance Theory:translation is a double ostensive-inferential communication mode, translation is the process of inter-language interpretation, translation is the process of finding the optimal relevance.The second chapter discusses common sayings and cultural relevance and cultural transmission of translation of common sayings. First of all, defines the concept of common sayings. Common sayings in this thesis refers to the language units,which is created by the masses and widely spread in the masses, its structure is almost finalized and it is vivid, common and concise. It is the broad understanding of common sayings, which comprises proverbs, locution, idioms and dialects. Second Discusses cultural relevance and cultural transmission of translation of common sayings. Translator need to be based on the cultural significance of common sayings to make relevance Inference of bilingual culture, choose the best bilingual associated meaning, and ultimately achieve the purpose of cultural transmission.The third chapter analyzes the translation of common sayings in the Russian translation of novel "Camel Xiangzi" under the guidance of Relevance theory, studies the translation of common sayings which achieved optimal relevance in the Russian translation of novel "Camel Xiangzi" and translation strategies and translation methods that translator used under the guidance of Relevance theory, analyzes the mistranslation and the missing translation of common sayings which does not achieved optimal relevance in the Russian translation of novel "Camel Xiangzi", provides referential translation, and reveals the essential reason of mistranslation and missing translation.The conclusion evaluates the translation of common sayings in Russian version ?P?????. Most of the translation of common sayings in Russian version reached the optimal relevance, but there are some other common sayings, which contains unique Chinese cultural connotation, the translation of these common sayings does not achieved optimal relevance. To the Russian translation of Chinese common sayings, our view is that in the case of not damaging the readability of translation and the permit of the reader's cognitive context, both direct translation and indirect translation can achieve optimal relevance, the key is to deal with the relationship between transmission of cultural information and reservation of readability of the translation.Methods used in this thesis:this thesis based on Relevance theory, takes the original "Camel Xiangzi" and the Russian version ?P????? as the main research object, through the way of close reading to find out common sayings in novel "Camel Xiangzi" and corresponding Russian translations, and through quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis method to classify, generalize and systematically analyzes these common sayings, summed up translation methods the Russian translator used and the translation strategies the translator overall tend to chose, reveal the difficulty lies of Russian translation of common sayings and the nature of the mistranslation and omissions.
