Study On Diegesis Of Zhou Bangyan's Ci

Ci is always created to express the feeling of poet, but Zhou Bangyan's ci(which is called Qingzhen Ci) also tells stories and shows strong narrativity. As a result,Qingzhen Ci plays an important part in the research of Song Ci on its narrativity. In this article, we made a systematic study on the narration of Qingzhen Ci based on the current research results and western narratology theory to fill in the related research gaps and define its value in history of literature.The issue of this thesis was mentioned and discussed in the following three chapters:Chapter 1, we analyze the similarities of North Song narrative Ci and their influences to the narrative features of Qingzhen Ci. North Song is a milestone period in the development of narrative ci. The social environment affected and enriched the narrative part of ci. As a result, compare with Later Han Dynasty and Five Dynasties Ci, North Song Ci owns some different features. In the narrative structure aspect, it set another title and created the order of ci. And it uses salutatory and leaving blank narrative methods. Under these common narrative methods and structures, and Zhou Yanbang's ci shows some personalized style and value.Chapter 2 analyzes the narrative skills of Qingzhen Ci. It includes scene and structure in the macroscopic part and perspective, time, image and figure in the microcosmic part. Zhou's Taoist background gave his ci various narrative scenes from real world to dream and fairyland. These images like the scenes of drama, form the background of story development. Qingzhen Ci has various narrative structures,reflecting Zhou's wisdom. Qingzhen Ci's changeful narrative time offers it a reasonably detailed narrative style. It always combines internal and external visions to tell stories. Zhou connected his stories with cultural images, and formed an integrated narrative clue. In a word, the narration of Qingzhen Ci shows strong artistry, and goes beyond the former poets. As Zhou experienced different events, his skills also sublated and changed.We divide the position of stories as before, in and out the ci according its location in the ci. ‘Stories in the ci' means we can see the stories in this ci by reading its title and preface. ‘Stories in the ci' means to describe the event through some narrative factors like scene, dialogue and figure. ‘Stories out the ci'means the stories are not mentioned in the ci, but we can infer it through relevant literary quotation and historical materials. Wu Xionghe commented that one reason for Zhou's strong infection was its intensive narration.Chapter 3 mentions the breakthrough of Qingzhen Ci. The common themes of traditional narrative ci include love, experience, event and history. Zhou used different methods to describe different themes, which give them some new meanings. He added some twisted plots to the love stories, cut the utilitarianism of enlistment stories. Zhou increased the time-space elements to deal with the narration of historical and reality themes. He also added more themes when chanted things to express his feelings towards the life and himself. Zhou was born in the North Song dynasty, when many ci were created. Zhou grew up under the nurture of former poets,and the cultural environment offered well condition for the spreading of his works.Zhou's narrative ci formed a connecting link between the preceding(North Song) and the following(South Song), greatly affected the works of South Song poets. We analyze the influence of Zhou in this article to establish Qingzhen ci's position in the history of literature.
