Boyhood,Youth,Summertime are the representative works of Coetzee, and they have immanent unity with the three films in content. They tell the three main stages of life of the main character--South African childhood; Teenagers studying abroad experience; Back to the hometown of middle years. The main character dreams constitute the whole story narrative drive, childhood dream is a writer of infancy, in the narrative on the dynamic performance for the source of power, the pursuit of a teenager is a writer dream stage, show on the narrative drive for power transmission,stage of the realization of the dream is a writer, young and middle-aged period in narrative drive powered weaken and disappear. That is to say, the hero’s dream to promote the whole of the narrative process, will be three strings into a whole, has formed a series of intrinsic link. Three novels are using the third person narration,which makes the novel show the imaginary color of dense, but from the content point of view, described the three stories and Coetzee himself experience very anastomosis,and presents the authenticity in the fiction, which is regarded as a writer of autobiographical trilogy.
