| In the contemporary art of painting, the use of composite materials has become a trend. And one of the features of contemporary watercolor, is by virtue of the special nature of the material, and a unique method of learning through repeated personal used, resulting in a unique style of the artist’s language. After a review of the existing literature and combing, I found in watercolor long development process, the application of media material is still in relatively initial stage, and the use of special techniques to stay in the older generation of artists is also taught basic material application, only a handful of contemporary water colorist able to do a breakthrough,and in many domestic watercolor techniques theory direction, the practical application of the use of the material is tasted, and not for a particular media to fully explore the use of materials.In this paper, watercolor works "mottled years" as the material basis for its creative process used to special media materials, and special techniques used by the application-oriented, creative process set forth in watercolor, with gum material for the media special performance results generated in-depth analysis of the actual creation of the role of the media in gum produced. Although the objective theoretical level, it is difficult to find specific theory to discuss details about watercolor painting and special material combination of both, but in terms of subjective feelings, it is undeniable that in the creation of materials and forms to explore aspects of the painting’s strong sustenance subjective consciousness and personal feelings.
