The Degree Complement With "Bu"

The structure with “bu”as the degree complement,is a common phenomenon existing in modern Chinese language.Combining the quantitative and qualitative methodologies,this paper probes the principle of usage respectively in syntactic,and pragmatic cognitive aspects. Meanwhile, the author conducted profound analysis on the generation mechanism of the degree in multiple-perspectives.Based on much linguistic data collection and statistical analysis, the indentify scope of the research was determined firstly. Accordingly, the structure with “bu” is divided into open class and enclosing class. Both of the two classes share many common features in being used as complement syntactically, expressing high degree semantically, and highlighting principle and metaphoring project cognitivelly.Open class is a rich and complicated structure. To specify the object of study, we investigated 6 verb-object phrases and 6 verb-complement phrases. This paper described each phrase in term of combination rule, syntactic structure, semantics, and pragmatic cognition. The above researches draw the following conclusions: with the predicate match, the predicate is not limited to the psychological verbs and adjectives,and including a few general verb.The predicate emotional meaning, in addition to "he bu long zui ", other major derogatory term and tend to mix and match. Synonymous sentence conversion on the format, if the predicate is feeling kind word, open classes-predicate-complement structure can be converted into the complement structure "Degree Adverb + predicate", where there are 20 to derogatory feelings predicate word class, open class structure is also available "severe" replaced; if predicate is a general verb, open class complement structure can be replaced with "predicate + de + li hai"; on the syntactic function, verb-object phrase for the degree of complement complement structure of the complement structure dynamic features than make up for phrase complement of degree of syntactic function complement structure more flexible. Besides, by means of comprehensive analysis, we took a close look at the difference between some words when used as high degree complement. Finally, we found these words' principle of usage is related to the degrees of grammaticalization. The higher degree of grammaticalization, the higher the frequency of using, and the richer syntactic features possessing.
