Emotion has a positive or negative impact on cognitive task, and this conclusion has been confirmed by the numerous psychologists. Emotional conflict as a new research direction in the field of cognition also caught the attention of the psychologists. past research were more concentrated in the study of patients with mood disorders while in this research, we select the students of high or low level in social anxiety by Social Avoidance and Distress Scale and require them to finish the word-face Stroop task, then analysis the respond time and accuracy rate to investigate the students’ reaction characteristics in the emotional conflict task who are in the status of the high or low level in social anxiety and how different types of emotional videos have influence on the individual’s reaction when they are performing the emotional conflict task. The results prove that :1. In the emotion congruent condition, the reaction time is shorter than that in the emotion in congruent condition significantly both in the experiment 1 and experiment2;2. The interaction effect between different types of task and different levels of anxiety is significant. In the emotion congruent condition, low anxiety individuals’ reaction time is shorter than the individuals’ reaction time who are in the high level social anxiety, but in the emotion incongruent condition, the result is opposite.3. The positive emotional video has a significant influence on individual’s reaction time. Whether in the emotion congruent condition or emotional conflict, The participants’ reaction time was not significant difference between those who watch the positive emotional video and the individual who watch the negative video. Negative video evoked set of emotional conflicts still exist. The research results show that social anxiety students are more sensitive to the emotional information and judgment. Under the condition of emotional conflict, the attention resources were more occupied, so the participants in the task of emotional conflict spend longer time. Positive can be partially lifted the occupation of the resource of attention and help to speed up the completion of this task, but the different emotion induced by different videos has no or not significantly influence on the accuracy. So, in some cases, the mood has a different effect on cognition task and cognitive efficacy.
