The Questionnaire Construction Of Undergraduate Students' Social Exchange Personality And Its Status Quo Investigation

In recent years, domestic research of social exchange is mainly related to translation and commentary of the classical theory and some applied research in the fields of economics, sociology, histology, human relations, etc. However, empirical research from a psychological point of view is really insufficient. The study of personality now, it's really adequate whether theoretical research or practical demonstration in China. Also the research methods are relatively mature. Nevertheless,there is a link between the personality and social exchange.Social exchange activities will affect the formation and development of personality traits, and the corresponding personality traits also react in the performance of social exchange behavior, so in the social exchange activities, we have formed a stable specific personality traits, that is social exchange personality. This study aimed to explore the dimensions of the structure and status of social exchange personality of college students, after combined with reference and interviews, the college Students' social exchange personality is defined as: The stable and unique personality traits which undergraduate students demonstrated in mutual giving and rewording their social resources in social exchange process.On the basis of research literature and in-depth interviews, Compiled Social Exchange Personality Questionnaire for the Undergraduate Students, then carry out item discrimination analysis, exploratory factor analysis and reliability and validity of the forecast questionnaire, resulting in a final questionnaire including total 20 items.The questionnaire included five dimensions, namely, altruism, prudence,agreeableness, tolerance and utilitarian. In addition, the questionnaire has clear structure, good reliability and validity, so it can be used to measure undergraduate students' social exchange personality.According to the authorized questionnaire of undergraduate students' social exchange personality, after the investigation and research of the students from Jiangxi Normal University, Xiamen University, Beijing University of technology and Communication University of China, it comes to the results. The consequence shows that the main features of the undergraduate students' social exchange personalities areas follows: it has gender differences, in prudence,agreeableness and utilitarian, the boys were significantly higher than girls; in prudent and agreeableness, the seniors were significantly higher than freshmen, sophomore and junior students; While in the utilitarian, the senior higher than the sophomore and junior, the freshmen higher than the sophomore; in discipline, students in literature and history department higher than the students on science and engineering department in agreeableness and utilitarian;For the home location, university students in rural areas were significantly higher than the students on utilitarian towns; students in the north was significantly higher than the students in the south in the aspects of altruism, prudence, agreeableness and utilitarian; At the same time the only child was higher than the non-only child in the prudence, agreeableness and utilitarian, yet the non-only child was higher than the only child in tolerance.
