Social self-concept is the perceptions of one's roles that he or she plays in his or her social life, including the cognition and evaluation of his or her role relation, role status, role-playing skill and role experience, social self-concept is an important part of self-concept. Previous studies have proved that Social self-concept becomes very prominent part and plays very important status at the terminal of adolescency. Therefore, the study on Social self-concept of undergraduate have an important significance that promote healthy development of undergrauates' self-concept.And on the base of previous studies, this study aims to construct undergraduate' social self questionnaire, explore the characteristics of the development of undergraduate' social self and construct a norm for undergraduate' social self in Southwest China.The formal investigation was conducted on a sample of 3,635 students from 16 college or university in Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou and Chongqing Province by using random sampling. By the factor analysis of the data, we explore the inscape of undergraduate' social self questionnaire, and probe into the developmental characteristic of the undergraduate' social self. We build a norm for undergraduate' social self-concept in Southwest China by the results of 3,635 testee. The conclusions were made as the following: (1) The social self questionnaire for undergraduate includes 10 factors which are status in family, interpersonal authority, relation with strangers, status in group, relation between teachers and students, relation with opposite sex accompaniers, brotherhood and sisterhood, role experience, role adjusted skill and role perceived skill.(2) The social self questionnaire for undergraduate has satisfying reliability and validity.(3) There is significant difference between grades in undergraduate' social self-concept, and the whole developmental trend is freshman>senior>junior>sophomore, and it takes on U type in its development.(4) There is significant difference between age, speciality, occupying students' work or not, having the experience of part-time job or not.(5) There isn't significant difference between sex, the character of school, singleton or not and nationality.(6) The interaction isn't significant difference between sex and grade.(7) We are making an elementary grade norm of social self-concept for the undergraduate in the Southwest China.
