Humor is an important linguistic phenomenon but also an important means of teach ing, but the research which combines humorous discourse with teaching Chinese Foreign is rare, and the majority come from the West and the outcome of the domesti c foreign language teaching. Therefore, this article refers to foreign Humorous Instruc tor Discourse(HID), which is called the concept of using humorous words and expressions in class. It is used to explore the condition of teacher's usage of humorou s language on order to enrich the theory on Chinese as a Foreign Language classroom teachers concerned in China.This paper studies the meaning,type,and frenquency of the Humorous Instructor Discourse, as well as explores the formation mechanism and structure of Humorous Instructor Discourse, hoping to make teachers explain profound theories in simple language. The study took a qualitative and quantitative research methods, through the observation of International Education explained by foreign language teachers, and had a detailed record of teacher humorous discourse. Studies have shown that in the Foreign Chinese Classroom Teachers humorous discourse is very limited, the use of humor discourse on a 40-minute Foreign Language Lesson average was 1.7, and the use of teacher humorous discourse are mostly used improvised manner and not special ly prepared before class, so this study is ready to divide teachers humorous discourse into the discourse prepared humor and impromptu humor depending on whether the teacher has prepared or not.Besides, the author takes Chinese ontological knowledge as pointcut based on the collective humorous corpus and analyzes the use frequency of different strategies. It can be found that they all present imbalanced phenomena. On the other hand, there are also wide variations in terms of different teaching procedures. Therefore, the author puts forward some teaching suggestions for the problems in teaching process. In a word, study on teachers' humorous discourse in teaching Chinese as a foreign language is of great significance and, to some extent, is vacant as well, which provides huge potential for development.
