| Today is an age of information,in which 21 st century is regarded as ?the peak period of information translation? by many translation scholars.During this period,compared with traditional literary translation,the demand for cross-cultural communication and the translation of practical application has been becoming increasingly urgent.With the gradual industrialization and specialization of translation,professional translators are urgently needed in various industries.The translator,as an intern,participated in the official web-page translation of Beijing Aeroimginfo Information Technology Co.,Ltd.The translated text covers the following aspects: company profile,atmosphere-ocean,water conservancy and environmental protection,land surveying and mapping,disaster reduction and emergency response and PIE software platforms etc.Based on this translation practice,the translator makes analysis on three aspects: PIE-Space,company profile,land surveying and mapping,from the perspective of communicative strategy.This report has summarized the language characteristics of EST texts,namely,the rigorous and profound content is presented in accurate and concise sentences with logic and objectivity.Meanwhile,a great number of precise terms are used in EST in order to explain some professional concepts clearly and briefly.So,based on these features,translators should follow the principles of accuracy,simplicity and objectivity in Chinese to English translation to make the translation version be in conformity to the characteristics of EST text on the premise that its ?expressiveness? has been ensured.Finally,the report focuses on how to apply these principles into practice and explores what translation strategies should be adopted in the implementation of them. |
