Based on the practical translation of “The Analysis of the Economic Value of Trademarks and the Legal Regulations of the Value Realization” from Chinese into English, this report will present the following aspects: firstly, the description will be given to state objectively the stylistic features of economic texts and their correspondent requirements in terms of translation;then it analyzes the sentence patterns of this kind of text and the practical translation strategies to be used.Above them, the larger and more important part of the report will focus on two aspects, which will be dealt with as case analysis. One of them is the professional features and normal expressions with regard to trademark terms, which aims to reproduce the effective function and purpose in the target version,as is expected to be almost the same with the original. The other is the long and difficult sentences, which are used widely, because the source text belongs to written academic text with the objective and serious features in terms of language organization. These long sentences are also obstacles in this translating process,so the key point is how to transfer the outstanding long sentences into the other language effectively as they were in the original.Through the case analysis,it is shown that partial factors have changed in translating the Chinese long sentences into the English ones, which means they are different from the source ones.Although the whole paragraph in the targeted language still maintains the same order with the source one, translation techniques such as splitting or combining the sentences in other ways are applied into the translation of long sentences, and the purpose is to rebuild strict, logic and smooth coherence in the targeted text.
