The Analysis Of Bordering Town From Theperspective Of Translation Aesthetics

As a famous novel,The Bordering Town written by Shen Congwen maninly introduces the pursuit of love of young people of Xiangxi as well as the simple folk,so the novel has a rich aesthetic value.Actually,it is called the "exquisitely carved idyllic" mainly because it reflects the rustic customs and habit as well as the pure feelings between people.Another reason is that he also praised the people with good moral character.So Translation of this work will have a good influence on understanding the translation skill and the aesthetics in translation.Mr.Shen,who is a famous writer,have created many novel and prose,which describes the life of Xiangxi in 20 th and the living conditions of the working people of that period.He also priaises the optimistic attitude of working people when they are in bad condition.Gladys,who is known as a famous translator,used many translation technique to capture the hero's mental activity and the growing experience of the hero from a a fragile little girl into a strong and mature women.She also depicts the simple folk.I also do some translation exercises,but i find many differences compared with the translation of Gladys.I should make more effort to improve myself both in my knowledge and translation ability.Although there are some achievements in the study of The Bordering Town conducted by domestic and foreign scholars,but there are only a few systematic and further studies of the translation,especially in the perspective of translation aesthetics.This paper aims to combine the translation technique and the aesthetic aspects reflected in the novel written by the author Shen Congwen and the English version of the novel translated by Dai Naidie and Yang Xianyi to reappear the beauty involved in the translation aesthetics.I also hope to have a deeper understanding on translation aesthetics from the translation practice and improve the translation ability.
