Translation Practice Report On "Food Comments" Section Of China Food Media Network

Nowadays, food safety has triggered people's concern. News about food safety can always catch people's attention. Meanwhile, with the development of internet technology, News media, especially internet news plays an important role. China Food Media Network is the official website of China Food which takes responsibility of social supervision. In addition, the English website of China Food Media Network is on trial which focuses on the internationalization of news commentary so as to increase readers' interest.During the internship at the editorial department of China food, I translated "Food Comments" section of China Food Media Network besides translating contracts and instruction manuals. Moreover, I selected published articles of twelve thousand odd words from the "Food Comments" section and analyzed the translation.This report is divided into four parts: task description, translation processes, case analysis and conclusion. Specifically, task description and translation processes are the general introduction; Case analysis is the core part which discusses the translation from aspects of characteristics of news commentary, the title of news commentary and food term; In accordance with requirements of China Food, I strive to translate the original faithfully and smoothly in order to attain convergent meaning between the original and the translation. In detail, I mainly translate the title of news commentary by means of literal translation and rewriting; I also apply literal translation, free translation and transliteration to translate food term. The last part is the conclusion of the C-E translation of news commentary.
