Place Name Research Of Arhorqin

Place names are the name that people name some geographical entities. Place names reflect local history, natural environment, living background, social customs and habits, legend and thought of culture in varying degrees.In this paper, based on collecting place names of Arhorqin, we study the structural features, naming features and cultural connotations by explaining, comparing, statistical analyzing and so on. It is valuable for the study of Mongolian place names.The paper is composed of four parts, Introduction, conclusion and appendix.The Introduction mainly illustrate the reason of selected topic, research method and the resource of materials.Chapter one mainly illustrate the place name's structural feature of Arhorqin.Chapter two mainly illustrate the place name's feature including named by terrain, shape, range; named by river, lake, well; named by domestic animals; named by people's name and tribe; named by plant; named by color, number; named by direction, location; named by related affairs.Chapter three mainly illustrate the historical and cultural characteristics of place name, including place names related to religious belief, historical remains and legend.Chapter four mainly illustrate the change of place name of Arhorqin and offers some suggestions for revise of place names.The conclusion summarize the whole paper in five aspects.
