In this paper, there are two survey objects. One is the teaching material: all sets of “HanYu JiaoCheng”, “Developing Chinese”(Primary Chinese)” and the "Road to success"(Primary Chinese).These three textbooks are elementary Chinese comprehensive teaching materials that published by Beijing Language and Culture University Press. The other is foreign students who come from Mongolia. At present, the Mongolian students respectively learn Chinese in three different universities of Hohhot.(Inner Mongolia University, Inner Mongolia Normal University, Inner Mongolia University of Technology).Among the three textbooks the writer got general topic categories, and according to the “international curriculum for Chinese teaching”, the writer design questionnaire and investigate what the most interested topic of Mongolian students are. Eight topic groups and fifty branch topics are involved in the questionnaire to investigate the current and published three Chinese textbooks' the topic classification condition. On the theory basis of second language acquisition and other related theories, the interview of the teachers who teach foreign students and the writer' own experience in Chinese teaching. The thesis analyzed the reasons between topic interest and textbooks.The thesis also will be the reference to teaching Chinese as a foreign language and improve the quality and efficiency of Chinese teaching.This paper consists of introduction, body and conclusion. The introduction part introduces the significant and the purpose of why the writer did the study, and related study review. There are three chapters in the body part: the first chapter mainly talked about the design and methods of this investigating. The second chapter talks about the analysis on topic interest of the Mongolian students. The third chapter focuses on whether the topic between the textbook and the Mongolian students are matched.About conclusion, in this part the writer sums up the whole article which can provide preparation of teaching on teaching Chinese as a second language.Results show that:1. From the most interesting topics to the least interesting topics, Mongolian students' topic interests collected by questionnaires are listed as follows: entertainment and leisure, social communication, everyday life, social problem, traditional Chinese culture, study and work, sentimental life, tourism and traffic.2.The topic distribution features of three sets of teaching materials are showed: topics regarding daily life and social communication are welcomed most; topics about study and work runs the second; topics on entertainment and leisure and sentimental life contain same numbers of topics and rank third; others are the least.3. From the topic interest point view, on the whole three sets of Chinese textbooks mostly match learner's topic interests. Generally speaking, among these three sets of textbooks, "Road to success"(Primary Chinese) best match learner's topic interest, next comes “Developing Chinese”(Primary Chinese). And “HanYu JiaoCheng” textbooks rank third.
