Looking For The Performance And Influence Of Music Elements In Films From Feng Xiaogang's Films

As a product of the combination of film and music, film music has its particularity.However, the musical element has been ignored many times. Thus,many people consider the film music as a kind of film accessory. With the development of film music, this point of view is not accepted by everyone. Music element, showing its irreplaceable art characteristic, plays an important role in films.Currently a lot of research has been done on film music in China, but most of them are outlined by history and theory as well as the comparison of works. Studying the whole works of a famous director and his using of musical elements has not been founded up to now. For that reason, this study, which is based on theoretical foundations of traditional music and Film Studies, selects the famous Chinese director Feng Xiaogang's film works and analysis the musical for the film deeply and comprehensively.By using content analysis method and case study method as the main research methods, this paper analyses 15 films directed by Feng Xiaogang which has been released before June 2016. It mainly discusses the Selection and application of musical elements and its influences. Summary of director Feng Xiaogang's movie music element in the expression diversity and uniqueness, including music size adjustable and image matching, the music rhythm and speed in the film against the use of traditional, choose instruments special, and so on, to Feng Xiaogang's film music for cutting in point to explore the elements of music in the film in the important role.
