The topic of life has always been enduring. There is only one life for everyone. Therefore, the problem that how to increase the thickness of life and make our life more meaningful has initiated students' reflection. Given that college students are in a very important period, in order to help them realize the value of their life, it is necessary to direct them to understand life correctly, improve the quality of life, set life goals clearly, and establish positive values of life. Some scholars have conducted relative research about the meaning in life both at home and abroad. But the research results, especially some of the demographic variables about the meaning in life do not match the results of the research. Therefore, this study explores the meaning in life in the differences of demographic variables, and the relationship of family intimacy and self-harmony. Maybe it can enrich the research results of the meaning in life, and provide a certain basis for college students' mental health education.This research adopts the Purpose in life Test(PIL), and Family Adaptability and Cohesion on Evaluation Scales(FACESII-CV), and the self-harmony scale(SCCS) to conduct questionnaire survey on 490 college students. Besides, the study explores the relationship between college students' meaning in life, family intimacy and self-harmony relationship. The results are as follows:(1) Different gender, grade and family structure of college students in the meaning of life and its section dimension of life exist significant difference; There is no significant difference on the different professions, whether or not the only child, different home places, and parents' education level of college students in meaning of life and its all dimensions.(2) Family intimacy, self-harmony and meaning in life are all related significantly. Among them, there is negative correlation significantly between family intimacy and self-harmony(r=-0.269, P<0.01). There is negative correlation significantly between self-harmony and meaning in life with its all dimensions(r=-0.600, P<0.01). There is positive correlation significantly between family intimacy and meaning in life with its all dimensions(r=0.316, P<0.01).(3) Self-harmony in the family intimacy and meaning in life, and four dimensions(the quality of life, life value, life goals and life freedom) partially plays an intermediary role.
