Socrates: life without the inspection is of no value. The Lofty of man’s life is thatpeople can constantly thinking, questioning the meaning of life. Today, as the risingof technological rationality and tools value, in the face of the distruction of themeaning of traditional culture, the face of ever-changing and complicated modern life,many young people gradually lose the value resources and meaning of fate whichsupport the life activity. They trapped into a kind of "existential crisis", showed a lostof spirit and ideals, which sparked deep thinking of the meaning of life and valuetargets.Purpose: This research intended to investigate the situation of college students’meaning of life, to study it’s sources and demographic characteristics. and Then toscheme out intervention project which based on the investigation results andlogotherapy theories, finally to proof-test its validity.Methods:"Life Attitude Profile scale" designed by HeYingqi was used as theinstrument to investigate the563college students from3schools in Yunnan city.According to the results of the survey,20college students were random Selectedrespectively as experimental group and control group obtained on the pro-test andpost scales. the students of the experimental group received7sessions of groupcounseling, and one sessions each week. The control group did not receive anyexperimental treatment. It is to assess whether there were significant differencesbetween the experimental group and control group. Besides, the research conductedanalysis of the group process records, interview and the feedback by the participantsso as to further investigate into the effect of the application of logotherapy groupIntervening.Conclusion:First, the general lever of the undergraduates’ Meaning of life was at a moderatelevel, undergraduates’ Meaning of life had a significant differences in gender, gradeand health condition. in gender, the boys were significantly higher than Girls in "life goals sub-scale" and" life control sub-scale", the girls were significantly higher thanboys in "acceptance of trials sub-scale". in grade, the juniors had the lowest score intotal, the seniors were significantly lower than freshmans and sophomores in "the willto meaning sub-scale", the seniors were significantly lower than freshmans,sophomores, juniors. in "Existential vacuum sub-scale", the seniors were significantlyhigher than freshmans and juniors in "life goals sub-scal", the seniors weresignificantly higher than freshmans、 sophomores and juniors in "life controlsub-scale" and "acceptance of trials sub-scale", freshmans and sophomores weresignificantly higher than juniors and seniors in "acceptance of death sub-scale"; inhealth condition, students with physical disease were significantly lower than thestudents without physical disease in total sorce、"life controlsub-scale"and"acceptance of death sub-scale".Second, the sources of meaning in life in college students in order of importanceare: family, personal growth, physical health, goal pursuit, relationships, success andachievement, out of the dilemma and so on. And girls in the family’s choice aresignificantly higher than that of boys. Preferred source of meaning in life in collegestudents in order of importance are: family, personal growth, physical health, goalpursuit, belief, success stories and achievements. Girls in the family’s choice of whichis significantly higher than boys, boys in the choice of faith was significantly higherthan girls.Third, the Logotherapy Group Intervening showed immediate and followed-upeffects on improving meaning of life of experimental group in the total" meaning oflife scale” and in "the will to meaning sub-scale","Existential vacuum sub-scale","life goals sub-scale","acceptance of death sub-scale"; showed immediate effects in"life control sub-scale","acceptance of death sub-scale".Fourth, there were positive effects on Logotherapy Group Intervening inexperimental group, most members felt more confident in themselves and wanted tomake themselves better. They know to cherish their life and make use of their livesand can face their frustrations and adversity more bravely.Fifth, during the process of experiment, the group cohesiveness, the liberal attitudeof research, the positive feedback from leader and members, the attractive program of logotherapy group counseling were helping in making the counseling more effective.Finally, the results and the suggestions of the research provided teachers in thecollege school with implements to practice logotherapy group counseling and to makeadvantage of them as reference for further studies.
