With the rise of numerous B2 B platforms like Alibaba, China’s E-Commerce has made great achievements. People become more and more dependent on E-Commerce for the convenience it has brought to our lives. The Development Course of China’s E-Commerce is the first TV documentary that illustrates the development of China’s E-Commerce and the development of small and medium-sized enterprises involved in the field. With an English version of this documentary, B2 B practitioners overseas will be able to have a deeper understanding of China’s E-Commerce and thus benefit both China and the world in trade and cooperation. The chosen documentary contains lots of economic, technical and financial terms, therefore the interpreter needs to pay close attention to the accurate delivery of these terms during the whole interpreting practice. At the same time, a study of the relevant background knowledge is required during the preparation for the practice. The whole process of the interpreting of this documentary is guided by Skopostheorie, in which there are three rules to follow: Skopos Rule, Coherence Rule, and Fidelity Rule. With the guidance of these three rules, the interpreter is able to adopt domestication, foreignization, and other translation techniques to interpret tricky words and sentences. Moreover, the methods of amplification, omission and rearrangement of sentence fragments are also used to accurately and completely deliver all the messages in the Chinese script, thus achieving the goal of cross-cultural communication.
