Research On Ceremonial Paintings Of The Tuyao Ethnic Group

Ceremonial paintings is an important part of the Yao's religion, it is a medium for the Yaos and ghosts on important ceremonies. Ceremonial paintings are available on ceremonies like receiving precepts, sacrificing and placating the dragon vein of the family and funerals, etc. At present, researches on Yao's Ceremonial paintings are relatively rich, but rare on Tuyao's. Based on this situation, this article takes ceremonial paintings as carrier, collecting datas with the Participant observation of anthropology and ethnology, depth interview, document research and comparative study, etc. According to comparison of similarities and differences between TuYao and other Yao branches on ceremonial paintings' type, distribution, making process and using ways of ceremonial paintings, thus to analyze features and social function of Tuyao's ceremonial paintings, to build the religious images of TuYao.
