As the network technology matures, and internet, mobile media platform expands, microfilms have shown the development of blowout in just a few years. Meanwhile documentary microfilms have also gradually come to the sight of the public. Documentary, as an aesthetic style, is not a purpose itself. Its purpose is either to be objective and real, or give people a sense of reality. In terms of documentary, it not just simply records, but a way of creation, style and so on that let the subjects involve in the image world and reflect subjects' thoughts on the premise of respecting objective facts. This paper mainly illustrates the artistic features and creation of documentary microfilms, and carries out practical analysis combining with author's work The Old Testament. This thesis first discusses the development course of China's microfilms, and then carries out analysis from microfilms' initial stage, development stage and mature stage, elucidating microfilms'documentary aesthetic features on theme, tonal style, shooting techniques and camera language processing and so on from two aspects of manifestation form and manifestation features. This article focuses on little people' setting, plot setting and audio-visual expression and next expounds characteristics of the times, selection of the scene, the use of documentary techniques, as well as the use of irony techniques and black humor of documentary films, combining with the author's work The old testament. And it explains the creation of documentary microfilms' creation from aspects of editing and sound and so on.In discussing how to highlight the sense of reality, this paper not only explains factors such as scene control, lighting, props, composition, color, external light and etc, but also elaborates the early stage conception, mid-term creation and filming and post-production of the graduation film The Old Testament. To some extent, sharing the problems and experience about documentary microfilm helps the popularization of documentary films. While shooting The Old Testament, the author found all kinds of faces, heard different sounds, saw demolition, collapse, and heard explosion and screaming. Director Jia Zhangke once said, "In the raucous noise and flying dust, I slowly feel that even in such a desperate place, life itself will blaze with brilliant colors." So, when the author saw groups of workers come and go in front of the camera, the author was awed by their'expressions that were as silent as still life. In this kind of empty room, you could see some tables covered with dust, some scattered utensils once touched by its owner stay motionless, keeping a firm pose after the disaster, as if they were filled with sad poetic flavor under light and shadow. In fact, there exists some overlooked reality in the still life. Although time has left deep marks on it, it still remains silent and keeps the secret of life. From one reality to another reality, I decided to record the reality by documentary method. An integrated team with reasonable division of labor can not only guarantee the quality of film shooting, but even, to a certain level, can speed up the progress of film shooting, and this was also the problem in the scene creation of the graduation film The Old Testament. The sparrows are small but are perfectly formed and in the same way, a complete shooting team should contain the director, executive director, lighting engineer, cameraman, recording engineer, props, stage management, arranger and etc. At the scene of the shooting, the director should allocate everyone's task, so that they can perform their duties. However, in the shooting of short films, because the division of labor was not arranged, executive and camera shooting, recording and lighting didn't perform their duties in time, which, to a certain extent, affected the shooting plan and progress. This paper illustrates the documentary embodiment of documentary microfilms from preliminary planning, script conception, staff setting to mid-term shooting and post production from the practical perspective. The film is shot in R3D RAW format, and can directly import the PREMIERE editing software to edit, after that, exports the agent file XML, imports Da Vinci 12 to XML to mix color, and then goes back to pr to export.
