Bivalent stimulus: A stimulus has two tasks, that may correlated or uncorrelated with each other. Univalent stimulus: A stimulus has only one task. This task can do\do not relate to the bivalent stimulus. Bivalent effect paradigm: Fixed order of triplet task switching. There are two type of block, one is called purely block which only have univalent stimulus, the other has a few bivalent stimulus called mixed block. The whole experiment consist of four set of stimulus: a bivalent stimulus and three univalent stimulus two of them are related with the bivalent one. another univalent stimulus has no relationship with it. Bivalent effect: the RT of all univalent stimulus slow in the mixed block than purely block, whether or not has correlative feather and performance with the bivalent stimulus. The current models of interpretation to explain bivalent effect are focus on the hypothesis of episodic context binding, and task switching. The opinions of sources for bivalent effect are vary, all of these are in the stage of exploring hypothesis basically. Recent study of bivalent effect was turn to cognitive control. This study attempt to understand the bivalent effect from the view of Dual Model of Cognitive Control. In order to discuss the reason of bivalent effect and the internal structure with the theory. This study designed three experiments:First experiment to confirmed the bivalent effect is stabilize phenomenon in Chinese context. Second experiment to test there are two kinds of cognitive control, and the group of high bivalent stimulus proportion could emphasize the active control. Third experiment to verify both of cognitive control, and the groups between compatible/incompatible stand out the passive control. Three experiments have same combination for bivalent stimulus: color Chinese characters. Three univalent stimuluses: color geometric figure\Chinese charactersumber. All of experiments take same fixed order triplet task switching paradigm. The research conclusions:Bivalent effect is a stable phenomenon in Chinese context and it could maintain 6s. Regardless the tissue tapes of bivalent stimulus, univalent stimulus which in the mixed block no matter the feather is\is not related to bivalent stimulus take more time to action. It does exist two kinds of cognitive control. Active control and passive control, more over two kinds of cognitive control could adjust their weight to correctly respond to the action depend on the episodic context. Bivalent effect is sensitive about conflict exist and conflict quantity, The source of conflict and quantity will influence the total size of bivalent effect and the internal structure.
