Aesthetic Research On The Design Of Network Emoticons' Form And Significance

The network emoticon is the inevitable outcome of the fast development of network language. It exists in network communication generally and is a special way of communication which is widely used, becoming an important emotional communication carrier on the platform of people's network communication.Compared with the characters in the network communication, network emoticons, of simple and clear and vivid features, not only enhance the communication effect, but also make the communication emotional.This dissertation focuses on the "form" and "significance" of the network emoticons which are closely related. First of all, network emoticons would be literally defined from two perspectives. With their origin as the theoretical network, the emergence and development of network emoticons would be organized, during which their features will be analyzed. Next, with the principle of semeiology the manifestation of "form" and expression of "significance" would be closely elaborated and their relationship will be disclosed. Meanwhile, on the analysis of specific common network emoticons and with my own creative design experience, the aesthetic acceptance brought by the creation of network emoticon expression will be analyzed and the inner psychologic, semeiologic and aesthetic connotation would be unearthed. Finally, the developing trend of network emoticons would be concluded,which follows the developing rule of “innovation”. Its industrialization development,applied with modern media technology, makes network emoticons convey emotion information more effectively in a uniquely creative way.
