Under the influence of the rapid development of network new media,people’s life is more and more digital,information diversification,communication has also changed a lot,from face-to-face communication to the use of social network tools to exchange.Instant messaging software,such as "WeChat",has become a popular way of communication.The features of fast transmission and convenient sending of pictures make cartoon emoticon active on WeChat.Some of the characters in the cartoon emoticon are widely known in the process of communication,and have won a lot of users’ love,making the cartoon emoticon worth the value of the development of derivatives.However,the development of the cartoon emoticon derivatives industry in China is not mature at present.The developed derivatives are too popular and lack of personalized design.This requires us to do more research and Exploration on the personalized design of cartoon emoticon derivatives.Through the study of the cartoon emoticon and the individualized design of derivatives,this paper found some problems of cartoon emoticon and derivatives in design innovation,design methods,development orientation and promotion.Through the practice of the content extension of the WeChat expression package "Corky Gorky" and the individualized design and development of its derivatives,the author designs a new cartoon emoticon from the theory of communication.Through the analysis of the principle of product design,the author summarizes the suitable method of analysis,performance,combination,metaphor and so on.The feasibility of personalized design of cartoon emoticon is put forward,and based on practical experience,the prospect of personalized design of cartoon emoticon is put forward.
