Zhedong,which stands for the east part of Zhejiang,is an administrative area which devided by Emperor Suzong in Tang Dynasty on 758 AD,the capital city was Yuezhou at that time.Zhedong Literature(ZL below),also know as the representative of the Southern Literature which rose up in the period of the late Tang Dynasty.ZL is a significant clue of the development of Tang Literature.It was in the leading position when late Tang Literature forging its own style.ZL stands for specific customs of specific location and time,thus it assimilated the late literary of Wudai & Song Dynasty.Due to its specialty in space-time,ZL had profound influence on the literature of Jiangnan Area or even the whole country in Tang Dynasty,and held significant position in the history of Tang & Song Literature.Based on the text,this article mainly uses the methods of historical textual research,inductive analysis and comparative research,discusses the significance of ZL and its phenomena in the history of Chinese Literature,then establishes the relationship between ZL and Tang & Song Literature.By combing and collating the literary works of Tang Dynasty,the first part summarizes the characteristics of humanistic environment in Zhedong area which can also carry influence in literature,providing a broad historical cultual background for the issue.The second part is on the analysis ofthe literary works of ZL in mid-late Tang Dynasty.The third part draws conclusions on ZL including the historical and plural cultual factors.Discusses the interactive phenomenon between ZL and other parts of the literature with the synchronic and diachronic views,finds out the meaning of the ZLin the whole Chinese Literature.
