Transformation And Inheritanceof Wenzhou Folk Culture In Late Qing Dynasty To Republic China (1888-1942)

This thesis takes Zhang Gang's Diary as an example,by analyzing the history of the folk culture in late Qing dynasty to Republic of China of Wenzhou.By combing Wenzhou folk culture content in Zhang Gang's Diary,and unite history material of local literature with the documentary research method,systematic analysis and comprehensive arrangement the character of transformation and inheritance in late Qing dynasty to Republic of China of Wenzhou.Meanwhile,research on diary's academic value actively.Let diary be critical evidence for history judgment and folk supplement,this is the main research content in the paper.To reflected Zhang Gang's social value for home-building and education of Wenzhou,the paper explained he was playing a lower gentleman and one folk in society,and investigate Zhang Gang's double life.This thesis is divided into seven parts.The first part(the introduction)describes the origin and significance of the topics,according to the research content of the subject,review about four theme :private diary,regional folklore in late Qing dynasty to Republic dynasty,history of folk custom in Wenzhou,relate private diary to regional folklore,determine the research objective and technical route of the paper,definitude research methods and general ideas.The second part introduces classification criteria and types of diary,by analyzing the general characteristics of diary proved its historical material value;introduces Zhang Gang's Diary's background,summary folklore custom according to the diary,explain the significance of the study of Wenzhou folk custom in the late Qing dynasty and the Republic of China;the third part introduces Zhang Gang and his family and entered his life world,explored the double roles he plays in the local society;the fourth part compared with the same stage of social fashion by analyzing the inherit of traditional folklore custom,such as production and life,social organization,folk religion,expresses distinctive features of reforms from old models to the new in this period;the fifth part explores the transformation during the life custom,traditional festivals,ceremony of life,customs of entrance education,folk drama art and folk secret association and social abuses,discusses the new fashion of the society in Wenzhou;the sixth part summary the general characteristics of Wenzhoufolk development in the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China,analysis of the originator of the Wenzhou mercantile tradition and the beginning of "Wenzhou model" from the perspective of folklore,discusses the complex relationship between states power and the changes of folklore culture,provides solutions about the state power intervene folk activities;the seventh part(epilogue)summary the research content of this paper.
