| With the rising power of China and high integration of the international market,more and more Chinese enterprises participate in the construction of the international engineering projects. In recent years, a large number of companies engaged in international project and set a stable position, which led to a virtuous cycle track of foreign contracted projects. Thus, translation for construction technical specification becomes an essential means of gaining access to foreign markets.The original work comes from the second part of an External Envelope Specification of Beijing Jangho Curtain Wall CO.,LTD., which deals with the compliance standards and codes; quality assurance, submissions, manufactures,suppliers and sub-contractors, engineering design and development, delivery, handling& storage, project conditions, warranties, testing, prototype performance testing,structural glazing testing, structural requirements, connection requirements,movement requirements and environment requirements in 17 patrs and provides a particular principle for the decoration and construction of curtain wall.This report, based on a translation practice of the second part of External Envelope Specification, includes five chapters: Chapter 1, task description including introduction of the task, reasons for choosing this text and content of the source text;Chapter 2 is process description including preparation and quality assurance; Chapter3 is a translation theory adopted in writing this report, namely the Skopos Theory,including its concept and principles, and its application and manifestation in the author's translation activities; Chapter 4 is a case analysis, which is made from such aspects as technical terms and syntactical structures; Chapter 5 is about the problems and deficiencies existing in the translation practice. |
