A Report On The C-E Translation Of Civil Engineering Project By Using Trados

Under the Belt and Road Initiative,the development of China's civil engineering industry has entered a new stage,and thus the demand for translation of civil engineering texts is also increasing;with the rapid development of translation technology,computer-aided translation(CAT)tools have gradually entered the stage of the translation industry.The translated text is excerpted from the part of the project that the author is responsible for in the translation company,which mainly involves the method statement of a civil engineering project.This report mainly introduces computer-aided translation and trados-aided translation software and describes the application of trados in the translation process in detail.A case study on the application of trados in the C-E translation of civil engineering texts is from three aspects:vocabulary,segment and discourse in accordance with the characteristics of the civil engineering text,and the report proposes corresponding solutions to the problems in the translation process.Combined with the main module functions of the translation tool trados,it proposes corresponding solutions to the problems in the translation process,probes into the advantages of CAT tools in the processing of civil engineering texts,as well as how to combine trados with traditional manual translation to achieve efficient and high-quality translation of civil engineering texts in a society of pursuing efficiency,relying on the background of the artificial intelligence eraThis report is a reflection and summary of the translation process of civil engineering project based on computer-aided translation tools and translation technology for the C-E translation process of civil engineering projects.The author hopes to provide some help and reference for translators who have just.started to translate texts in civil engineering,thus,deepening their recognition of CAT tools and broadening their horizon.The results of the research are as follows:Firstly,auxiliary function of CAT software trados plays a significant role in enhancing the translation quality and translation speed of civil engineering texts,speeding up project delivery speed,and supporting "cloud work",but it is essential to avoid the shortcomings for translators in the cumbersome creation of corpus and terminology database Secondly,since translation practice is required to keep pace with the development of industry and technology,translators need to improve not only their bilingual skills,but also their own translation skills.
