Rockwell Kent (Rockwell Kent,1882-1971) was a famous printmaker, writer, illustrator, explorer of American in twentieth century. He inherited and developed the art of 19th century American realist tradition of abstract art in the twentieth century, when the impact of the American art scence, is not affected by the trend of Kent, adheres his art. His life involves many art prints, paintings, illustrations, bookplates, etc.,left us a lot of creative works and concise and easy to understand, his prints especially widely loved by the public and collectors. By continuing to explore the way of art, Kent finally established his own unique artistic language. In Kent's prints, the figure bodybuilding sturdy screen summarize, full of tension, black and white contrast, a typical American heroism and symbolism meaning.By reading the relevant literature in foreign languages of Kent, the use of image science research methods, Kent's studied graphic art, trying to re-study of this subject to re-recognize the printmaker's contribution and value for printmaking development. This paper is divided into four parts. Part l:Overview of Kent's life and artistic achievements;Part 2:From Kent's background of the times, dialysis their inner world, to explore the reasons for his artistic form;Part 3:Understanding the process of his rheology and printmaking artistic features;Part 4:Explore Kent's impact on Chinese contemporary art printmaking and inspiration.
