The social unrest and ethical fusion in the Northern Wei-Dynasty are extremely compelling throughout the Chinese history.Just as far as calligraphy field concerned,the emergence of "Statue Inscription in Wei Dynasty" is a glorious chapter in the history of Chinese calligraphy during this period.The frequent war,large-scale immigration,ethnic tensions escalate,different cultural background and diverse population structure in the Northern-Wei Dynasty have a considerable influence on its writing culture and calligraphy art.The calligraphy of stone tablets in the Northern-Wei Dynasty thus arises at the historic moment.The calligraphy of stone tablets in the Northern-Wei Dynasty is also called "The calligraphy of stone tablets in the Wei Dynasty",and it mainly includes the cliff stele,inscriptions,the epitaph and the Inscription on the Statues.At the beginning of the Northern-Wei Dynasty,the emperor of Xiaowen moves the capital to Luoyang and actively promotes the policy of Han Chinese culture,and he advocates learning and writing Chinese characters.At the same time Buddhism prevails,and the royal family and the people all believe in Buddhism and study it,and the making of Buddhism statues is set off.The combination of writing Chinese characters and the advocating of making Buddhism statues makes carving characters on stone tablets in the Northern-Wei Dynasty growing popular,and it also promotes the development of the Inscription on the Statues.After more than one thousand years left the most representative is Inscription on the Statues of Longmen Grottoes which is typical cultural accumulation in Northern-Wei Dynasty.Inscription on the Statues of Longmen Grottoes has been praised as "The best model of the square stroke ",one of the most representative is the Top Twenty Grades of Longmen Statue Inscription.By means of collecting,sorting and analyzing on the calligraphy data in Wei Dynasty and taking the Top Twenty Grades of Longmen Statue Inscription as an example,this dissertation contrasts,classifies and summarizes the point and stroke,the use of writing brush,the structure of Chinese character,writing methods and so on.It analyses the causes of the style and components of the calligraphy in Wei Dynasty and its influence to the theory and practice of Qing Dynasty stone inscription rubbings by fanning out from a point toan area.The dissertation can be divided into four parts to be discussed.First,it summarizes the origin of the statue and inscription on the Statues.Buddhism prevails in Northern Dynasties,and the statue is the product of a development of Buddhism,and there must be inscription if there is the statue.Inscription on the Statues also carries for the people to express their devotion to the Buddhism Belief.The statues of Longmen Grottoes is a very typical representative.Summing up and sorting out the distribution of the inscription on the Statues in Longmen and the generalization of the inscription is helpful for the dissertation to discuss about the Top Twenty Grades of Longmen Statue Inscription.Secondly,through the analysis of social and political cultural background,it makes us trace back to understand causes of the calligraphy style of the Inscription on the Statues in Northern-Wei Dynasty.Compared the reasons with the results,it is advantageous to the comprehensive and objective cognition of the Inscription on the Statues in Longmen which is the historical inevitability of the calligraphy phenomenon.Then the masterpiece of the Top Twenty Grades of Longmen Statue Inscription in Longmen Grottoes is discussed carefully.By a certain amount of examples,the point and stroke,the structure of Chinese character and writing methods is explored by using comparative method and inductive method.Finally,the development of the calligraphy of the Inscription on the Statues in the Sui and Tang Dynasties,and the influence of the cross the dynasties on innovation and practice of the inscription on the Statues for the stone inscription calligraphy in the Northern-Wei Dynasty is analyzed,and the inheritance and development of the Regular Script of the Stone Inscription Calligraphy in the Northern-Wei Dynasty is explored and analyzed too.In conclusion,the author thinks that only the point and stroke,the structure of Chinese character and writing methods of the Top Twenty Grades of Longmen Statue Inscription are deeply and comparatively analyzed,and combined with the expression of the use of writing brush and a comprehensive grasp of the features by the use of writing brush and the unique characteristics of its structure,and we can borrow the ancient achievements to push forward today's development which we are inspired by the Regular Script in today's stone inscription calligraphy in the Northern-Wei Dynasty.And the new writing element is injected in the lateinnovation.
