A Research Of Eating Disorders Tendency And The Relationship Between Perfectionism And Family Upbringing Pattern Among Female College Students

With the continuous development of economy, society blows a wind of value, that is, thin is beauty. the obvious increase of reports about the eating disorder gradually becomes a serious challenge against the healthy development of Chinese citizens. Female college students, as young groups, their eating situation has been paid widely attention. Eating disorder is defined as a behavior which has nothing to do with other mental illness but attributes to abnormal eating habits or weight control. This article respectively researches on the characteristics of female college students eating disorder, perfectionism and family upbringing pattern, and discusses the relationship among this three variables. This article not only enriches the previous study of such three aspects, does help to understand the law of the female college students' eating and provides theoretical support for future research. Guiding female college students to establish healthy eating habits and provides suggestions for female college students to cultivate women eating habits, but also gives the suggestions to social and school to guide female college students to set up the correct values.In this study, the female undergraduates from Xuchang college and Henan college are selected as subjects. And the author used the questionnaire of female college students eating disorder, perfectionism and family upbringing pattern to conduct investigation and data collection and used SPSS18.0 to analyze statistical data. In this research the author can get the following conclusions:First, the female college students' overall eating condition is good and their BMI index is also in the normal range. The eating disorder high score group has little difference from low score group on the weight and height, but they are different a lot on the ideal weight,age and the month between weighting. The total score of EDI and score dimensions are also different in different grade, but are no significant difference on whether the one-child;Second: Female college students' perfectionism is above the average level. And the total score has not obvious difference on the different grade and whether the only child or not. But the dimension of perfectionism(logic, worrying about mistakes, parents' expectation, action doubts) are different in the grade and whether the only child or not;Third: Female college students' family upbringing pattern is above the average level. The total score and the dimension of mother version(mother's love, mother's control) have significant differences in grade; While, the total score of father version has no difference in grade but its dimension(father's control) has a significant difference in grade. The total score and dimension of family upbringing pattern have no difference in only child or not;Fourth: Female college students' family upbringing pattern exists a significant positive correlation with perfectionism; There are significant positive correlations between perfectionism and eating disorders. Female college students' family upbringing pattern exists a significant negative correlation with perfectionism;Fifth: There is a significant negative correlation between the female college students' perfectionism and family upbringing pattern of "love" and "independent encouragement" dimension,and on the contrary, "control" dimension exists a significant positive correlation with it.There is a significant negative correlation between the female college students' eating disorders and family upbringing pattern of "love" and "encouragement". And on the contrary “control” dimension exists a significant positive correlation with it. Female college students' perfectionism exists a significant negative correlation with eating disorder "gluttony", "drive for thinness" and "dissatisfaction about ones figure" dimensions;Sixth: Female college students' family upbringing pattern has a positive predictive function for perfectionism. The perfectionism of female college students has a positive predictive function for eating disorders.
