This study selects290college students from Jilin University, Northeast NormalUniversity and Jilin Huaqiao University of Foreign Languages as subjects. Throughvariance analysis, correlation analysis, regression analysis and other statisticalapproaches, the relationship between family upbringing, sensation seeking andInternet addiction of college students is analyzed and studied. With the establishmentof the psychological model, the conclusions are shown as follows:1. The Internet addiction of college students shows no significant differences indifferent grades, genders, majors and family structures demographically.2. The Internet addiction of college students has significant positive correlationwith family upbringings of father’s and mother’s harsh punishment, excessiveinterference, excessive protection and refusal to deny. On the contrary, father’s careand understanding have significant negative correlation with the Internet addiction ofcollege students.3. The sensation seeking of college students has significant positive correlationwith family upbringings of father’s refusal to deny, excessive protection, and mother’sexcessive interference, harsh punishment and refusal to deny. The disinhibition scoreshave significant positive correlation with family upbringings of father’s and mother’sharsh punishment, excessive interference and refusal to deny. On the contrary, father’sand mother’s care and understanding have significant negative correlation with thedisinhibition scores.4. The disinhibition score of sensation seeking has positive correlation with thescore of college students’ Internet addiction. The score of sensation seeking haspositive correlation with the college students’ Internet addiction score and theinterpersonal and health dimension. 5. The family upbringing of mother’s refusal to deny and disinhibitiondimension of sensation seeking have positive predictive effects on Internet addictionof college students. On the contrary, the excitement and adventure dimension ofsensation seeking have backward predictive effects on Internet addiction of collegestudents.6. The disinhibition dimension of sensation seeking partly has mediating effecton mother’s refusal to deny dimension and Internet addiction dimension. The ratio ofthe mediating effect takes up21.66%of the total effect.
