A Report On Tourism Texts Translation Of Famous Attractions In Kaifeng

This paper is a translation report on tourism texts of famous attractions in Kaifeng, including the Kaifeng Prefecture, the Memorial Hall of Lord Bao, the Shanshaangan Guild Hall, the Yanqing Taoist Temple and other scenic spots. Kaifeng is a famous city for its long history and rich cultural materials. Therefore, if we make better use of the Chinese-English translation of the tourism texts, it is not only conducive to show Chinese traditional culture and history, but also helps to promote the economic development of Kaifeng. However, in the process of my trip to some of the tourist attractions in Kaifeng, I found some problems to be solved, these problems mainly involving the tense, the sentence structure, the misnomer and misunderstanding of the words with Chinese cultural features.Different translation methods and strategies are adopted in this paper, since the stylistic characteristics are unique,and the uniqueness of tourism texts also requires that the translation need to play the role of informative function and the output of cultural values. To purify the language environment of the attractions is not only the responsibility of the translators working with the tourism texts translation, but also the responsibility of all the translators.This report is divided into three parts. The first part is an overview of the background and the meaning of translation mission. The second part involves the translation process, which includes the preparation before the task and some problems the author met during the translation. The last part is an analysis of the translation task.
